State of the City Address

There seems to be some issues surrounding this year's State of the City Address...

I will post the the Copy of the Text of the State of the City Address when I receive it as I requested it. Also I will post the Link to wherever they end up putting in on the net and the times of Broadcast on the Cable Access Channel.

1.  The Mayor instead of having it at City Hall has moved it to a smaller venue for whatever reason. The reason given was that is conflicted with the City Court.  The Mayor has known the City Court meets on Wednesday nights for some time, another night may have been picked.

2.  The Mayor stated that the State of the City Address was not to be videotaped or shown on the Cable Access Channel. As you will see there was no reason given and no direct response from the Mayor to a citizen's email asking that very question.  Does the Mayor just represent those who support him or all of us?

3. Only after asked why there would be no videotaping of the State of the City Address has the Mayor agreed to do so.  Even his biggest supporters must ask the Mayor why.

Will there be a question and answer session following the address?  This would be a great opportunity in an open forum for the citizens of Beech Grove to be able to interact with the Mayor.

Here are copies of the emails with all dates and times shown.

When by law is the Clerk required to give a financial report?  As I have requested documents including the entirety of 2012.  The Clerk has not yet received all of the invoices from the vendors so it seems citing him for not providing one seems wholly political in nature.  Why would the Mayor ask for incomplete information?                                          Can I assume that when the Mayor has a draft it will be available for comparison to what his speech is?
I still have not received an explanation as to why the address was not going to be videotaped.

The State of the City will be video taped it is at the Senior Citizens Center Wednesday, January 30th at 7:00 pm.   The Clerk was asked to give a financial report weeks ago.  Mayor is still working on the State of the City address so there is nothing to send you.

I am also requesting that the Mayor have a microphone attached to him during this.  There is such a device available for use and it will aid in people being able to hear what is being said.  I have gotten several requests for this as people have a hard time hearing the audio at the City Council Meetings.

I am requesting a copy of the State of the City Address that will be read by the Mayor.

I am once again asking the Mayor of Beech Grove a direct question.  What was the reasoning behind the Mayor announcing that it would not be videotaped and why didn't the Mayor answer my email directly instead of having the Clerk Treasurer whom the Mayor did not even invite to the State of the City Address answer the question for the Mayor?

I have been informed that the State of the City Address will not be videotaped and put on the City Website or the Cable access channel for viewing.  Could you please inform the citizens of Beech Grove as to why it would not be?

Thanks in advance,
Kevin Roessler

Maybe it's just my old eyes, but can you use a different color for the text, other than yellow on a white background? It really doesn't contrast well, and makes it difficult to read. Thanks!

So the address is being taped and aired....what is the problem?

Kevin Roessler said...

2 problems.

The Mayor didn't answer as to why he didn't want it videotaped.

The Deputy Mayor who the current Mayor said the last Mayor didn't need and was a waste of money attempted weakly to run the bus over the Clerk Treasurer for not having a financial report.
If the Clerk can't provide me with numbers for 2012 because all the Invoices haven't come in then how can the Clerk give a financial report? Pretty stupid to ask for one without the numbers right?

Lastly, not real bright to schedule the State of the City Address without there being a financial report unless the numbers didn't look good right? That's why they are running the bus over the Clerk. The Mayor will say in his speech that he doesn't have all the numbers from the Clerk when the Clerk doesn't have the numbers to give him.

I suggest you call former Mayor Wiley and have him tell his son to hurry up and get the legal invoices in for December because that is what we are all waiting on.

What now? These games are the same ones the last group of goofballs tried. The Mayor isn't even smart enough to come up with a new song and dance.

Wow Kevin, why even answer that? You know if that would have been Joe Wright or Terry Dilk doing that there would be hundreds of posts on here already crying foul. These Democrats in Beech Grove are hypocrits and whiners.

Someone should take a look at why the mayors executive order 2 is posted and not executive order 1. Where is it? What is it?
