No docs on this one, just an Editorial from a Wise Old Man...

to me
Watching all these comments and personal attacks being written, and boy this stuff has gotten nasty. All because of people playing the people card, they don't like me, they do like me choose a side.
When you sit back and think about it, the last four Mayors from Wiley to Buckley all have made the same fatal mistake, all added to the problems of this city and the type of community it has become. All because they didn't do what was needed to improve things for the residents, but by making decisions based on popularity and re-election.
Case in point Mayor Wiley is a good man who had a great situation until, the Amtrak tax loss to the city, not his fault but it did take a nice piece of change needed to remove snow, pick up leafs and trash, repair and pave streets, add in competitive  dollars needed to keep trained city employees. The rental boom had started and the city was changing it's demographic make up.
Here's the rub, Mayor Wiley knew and introduced a plan to enforce rental codes so to protect the homeowners from falling property value, thus hurting tax revenue, but when the shouting was done and the smoke cleared the guidelines where changed and never enforced, why, resistance.
Warner knew things were going up in cost, and revenue was going down, things needed repaired and maintained and a sewer rate increase was talked about, only to be shoved in a drawer. Had Mayor Wiley done what was right for the city instead of his political friends wanted who knows what happens in 2004.
Mayor Wright, completely different situation but same results, Mayor Wright had the right idea about rebuilding and shaping Beech Grove, but he had three issues, he didn't know how to execute the presentation or plan, when he met negative feed back he lied about his plans, and lastly he way over promised and under delivered. When things started going south he tried to borrow his way out of it. Seems it would have been better to come honest with hey we screwed up, but we can fix it, and here's how. But instead he surrounded himself with people who protected him with lies and cover ups. All for the sake of the party and re-election.
Now speaking of cover ups Mayor Dilk and his clerk were appointed for one reason and one reason only to kept all the things hidden that they had helped screw up. Considering his hand in all the RDC things and his blind support to Mayor Wright, he never stood a chance.
Now comes Mayor Buckley, the funny thing about him is all he had to do was make one good smart move a year and after  the last 8 he could have been a genius but he started off the day after being elected breaking several promises made. Now some may argue this, but I know who was promised jobs and who wasn't I mean after 1283 phone calls from the man from Jan 1st 2010 - Nov 30 2011 yes all documented by at&t you know what's being told to others. Now had Buckley stayed to his campaign script and done the things he said he would, well this blog wouldn't exist. When someone thinks they can side step ordinances and change ordinances for their benefit, lets not forget total control over what the council hears and what they don't at meetings, well it's not a good thing. The decisions being made by Mayor Buckley are completely against what he campaigned on, the sewer rate increase, the borrowing of more money, open and honest government and now that he has this it's not me routine going on lets hope that the next few years fly by. Doing things the union way, the good ole boy club way, and the party way isn't really working out for the residents of this city, higher sewer rates, less service, small amount of city employees, wanted to increase property taxes, lets look at Main Street once it's done and see how many empty store's remain.
The Mayor should be the P.R person, the Mayor should be leading the charge in all areas, and be smart enough to surround themselves with experienced, rational people.
The revolving door on the RDC members should be a big question for all of us. Until Beech Grove gets a leader that does what they say, isn't afraid to upset a few friends and contributors to get things done right, we will keep going backwards.

So you see it's not about friends and neighbors, do you like me yes or no, or who's popular, it's about what's right for the city and that my friends and neighbors will take courage, thought, and time....the good news it's all fixable.

Have a Nice Day
Dave Grenoble

What will truly embarrass Beech Grove this evening is the Mayor's plan to have a crowd of his cronies show up in support of him and give it good to Davidson. What a stellar moment in time that will be for the City. The Mayor doesn't vet a contractor who actually has no contract with the City and this contractor ends up violating State Child Labor Laws.

What happens next? The Mayor blames his woes on Davidson and try to play politics instead of being a leader and being a man instead of hiding under his desk from the reporters.

I don't see how people can be mad at the news for reporting the truth and a councilman that simply spoke the truth when interviewed, but not mad over this illegal madness. How can all this be ok with them? Makes no sense. Let's see the egg on their face tonight. oh and Mayors Assistant dogging people and talking how this backfired on her FB is so professional for her position.

So let me get this straight. The Mayor's campaign donor and city "contractor" violates state law. Someone turns them in. Channel 6 investigates and asks a Councilman to comment. Councilman says he is concerned about safety/liability or something like that. Mayor and his supporters are now "organizing" against the councilman. Did I miss something? Shouldn't everybody be concerned about the City's liability with a 10 year old working a city job, with no safety equipment on? I seriously question the Mayor's leadership on this one.

Looking at Facebook John Edmunds seems to be leading the attack for Buckley, NO BIG DEAL

Is this the Dave Grenoble that moved out of the grove? why should we care what he has to say?

So the blog has started the big campaign for 2015!!!!! Thanks for the website address flyer; however, you failed to tell us who your dream team is...or did you purposely leave that information out? what a joke...hopefully this Dave Grenoble is not part of it, I for sure will not be voting for you or that fool...

I like to press refresh and watch that little counter rise...I wonder how many other people do the same thing...

So much for the Mayor's rally tonight at the Council meeting. Looked sparse. Mayor looked like he couldn't get out of there fast enough?

Has anyone else listened to the BOW meeting, maybe it's me but it sounded like the Mayor's asst was asking the BOW to break the law for her benefit.

It actually sounded to me like the Clerk was requiring Beautify Beech Grove to obtain an insurance policy even though the same is not required for the promoters club. Why would Dan not want a farmers market? It sounded to me that the flea market lady was offering up her insurance policy?

Anonymous said...

It looked as though Davidson was shaking in his boots last night! I wish someone would have put him in his place like he deserves. I have never seen him so quiet, and I really enjoyed that!

Irwin go back to your happy page where your are wanted. As far as the insurance, You cannot let a for profit business use their insurance for a city sponsored non profit event. Are you stupid? Please explain how this requirement of insurance means the farmers mkt is not wanted? Dan does his job and damn well so go pick on someone your own size. You people just don't like that he stands up for what is right and stops stupid illegal crap. Anthony was quiet because nothing was accomplished! Ed Bell quickly decicided to table the vote for the RDC stating the council had not had time to interview the candidates of which they had over 30 days! Wow, sorry but actually you had plenty of time! 2nd They tabled the ordinance that states the police need to have a blood test if in an accident on or off duty in their car and the cops thru a fit and do not want blood test unless the department head deems necessary or a breathalizer shows any impairment. (hmmm nope Im sure they wouldn't cover for each other at all! LOL and they did manage to approve the large weighted vehicle ordinance after screwing it up last time and passing an non-enforcable ordinance. Let's see, Umm yep, that's all, so what exactly was there to discuss? oh yea! the med express that Coates listened to a speech about it from Gary Loveless (Indpls Liason) and then asked at the closing statements what it was and where. OH, and let's not forget that when Ed Bell tabled the vote for RDC that the Mayor didn't seem a vote was called for and approved until somone in the crowd explained his job to him. He then decided to have a vote. I might ad when you watch the video, please note his disgust on his face. I think I will take my popcorn next time! Makes for a good carnival!

What about the people who aren't taking all the bullshit from the mayor and are tired of you people covering his ass? You agree that he should have declared an emergency and paid 16,000 to not count all the trash cans? You agree that the City should disregard Child Labor Laws and just let anyone do whatever they want to? Do you agree that the mayor should hold back ordinances that he doesnt want voted on instead of giving anyone who wants one voted on the ability to do so? You agree that he should have put the city another 2 MILLION DOLLARS back in debt right after the clerk paid a bond off? You agree with all the tax increases the mayor has put thru and the one he just tried to put thru?

WE are tired of YOU!

Now go tell the mayor you stood up for him, slide some money in his account and you will get a nice juicy contract!

swearing on your grandmother while you lie, it's a good thing she is dead because if you swore on her life she would be dead anyway.

funny that you seem to think that BG is the ONLY town with problems...its not. it is however the only one that is so publicly degraded via social media and news media. yes there are tax problems, yes the mayor isnt perfect. are YOU?? probably not. i am sure if anyone had as much access to any of our private lives, work, family etc we would all not be too happy. it is one thing to point out the things someone does wrong but to constantly dig for them like kevin does is ridiculous. the emeails i am sure he got nothign out of bc he never said another word about it since he received them. here is an amazing idea...put your big boy/girl panties on and start a website that focuses on ways to make bg better aside from whatever the mayor may or may not be doing. HA can you believe that? a way to fix things with out posting it and complaining! crazy isnt it?? p.s. me not being julie was NOT a lie...so my grandmother would be just fine!! nice try tho. oh and to the person who says this blog doesnt have "unique" visitors...your right. i did same thing of refreshing...it was me evey time!!

So what is wrong with a farmers market? Every small town has one and people come from far to attend. How is this not a good thing for BG?

Anonymous said...

yes anon 2:57.....i agree. what is wrong with a farmers market? seems to me no one on here has a simple answer and they need time to look for facts, docs, etc. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

Anonymous said...

Would someone please tell us who has ever said they didn't want a Farmers Market? The problem is Beautify set up everything wrong and it's on delay currently. Ask the mayor! Guarantee you he will tell you he knows nothing about it. He has washed his hands of it after being the one to encourage it in the beginning. There is a reason he backed away! Good luck! Do your own research! I have! A farmers market legally would be great! Bring it on!

Anonymous said...

You people talk big. I bet they will bring it on and you guys won't do anything about it. They have all they need to have it. Dan is being an ass. Oh, also Susie.

Anonymous said...

I believe Dan the man tried to require the farmers market people to get insurance saying the promoters club, holy name, etc. also have to do such things. Come to find out, Dan the man was not correct and was trying to pick and choose what laws to enforce and who needs to abide by those laws while making up laws at the same time. Dan the man is a joke. People want BG to become what it once was, and you can not prevent it.

Anonymous said...

For you really simple people.
The issue is the mayor co mingled city funds with Beautify Beech Grove funds, which really didn't exist at the time, therefore tying the city to it.

see above post oh and the city attorney agreed with DAN THE MAN, oh and Susie, what a bunch of hateful little bitches you all have become.

Anonymous said...

Actually the committee is now a non for profit, therefore, no longer tied to the city. Any dumbass can understand that and understand that "Dan the man" does not know what he is talking about. Why would the committee now have to insure itself while no longer being tied to the city?

Anonymous said...

Did the beautify group really become a non for profit? Last I heard they failed to file the proper paperwork. Also, what about the entire years worth of fundraising an activity they did while not being a non for profit? I wonder how long until Hogsett and Curry start snooping around City Hall?

Anonymous said...

yes beautify BG is NON PROFIT!!!!! pretty great to have a way for people to help the city and improve it in many ways. nice to see soe people are actually trying and not setting fire to the rest of this crap!!
