The Mayor turns down 1.5 MILLION dollars in Grant money.

According to the current RDC President the RDC has enough money to start the Greenway Project.

Also as posted by Dave G the Mayor doesn't have the authority to turn down the Grant as he doesn't have a vote on the RDC.  RDC's are separate entities.  Go to the RDC meeting this Thursday night at City Hall and find out what's going on.

I think you will not like that answer as the whinings of one small neighborhood DO NOT dictate what is best for the ENTIRE CITY.

Here are pics of 2 phases of the Greenway project.  Since no one in City Hall could provide the images I have requested them from Schneider Corp so that everyone can see them. Here are 2 of them that I have so far.

Right after the Mayor was elected he added 2 million dollars in new debt for the City.  Why would he not choose to spend $235,000.00 to get 1.5 million in Grant Money?  This project would greatly benefit the City.

I am requesting the file that has the plans in it.  If someone has it they can email it to kevroessler@gmail.com.  Anyone who used to be on the RDC when this was being planned have it?

It was more important for Bucky to pay back all of his contributors and suck on the BGFD which is useless when called to put out a fire. Do they even have enough people to run the trucks that he bought them? This latest one is stupidity brought to a new level entirely.

You are telling me we could of had a nice section of the greenway completed for $235K and the mayor said no? Instead he spent $30k on live feed cameras, that are not being used. He spent who knows how much to tear down perfectly good shelters in the park and rebuild them? The greenway is the type of project that attracts people to this city. It does not take a genius to understand that. Plus it would have added to the AV of the city, which means for tax money for the King to spend.

i helped and voted for dennis. i didnt believe it at first but after being kicked off of one of his committees after i started to ask questions i realized that he was not the man i had known for 20 years. and no, i will not post my name simply because julie will harrass me as she has anyone who asks questions. it's worse then when joe right was mayor.

OMG give it a rest! Either read the blog or not! Do the numbers seriously matter to you that much? Why don't you be a leader instead of a follower and stop worrying about how many people read the blog.

First of all I am leading by providing people that pay Taxes in Beech Grove with information that they should be seeing but aren't.

Secondly to those of you wondering why the counter jumps when you hit the refresh button it is counting everyone and not just you. ie If you read the blog for 5 minutes then hit the button it could jump up 1 or 15 depending on who else is looking at the blog.

Lastly, it does matter how many people are looking at the Blog. It shows everyone that people are becoming more and more engaged and taking part in learning what is going on with city government.

You must be one of the ones who wants to limit free speech when it doesn't go your way.

Here you go spinning the truth in order to spread your agenda. I am glad you still think the $2 million loan was not needed, along with the new ambulance, fire truck, shelters, Main Street, creek stabilization, blacktop/sidewalks at the little league, cameras to stop unwanted guests in our park, etc. Now you are complaining that the Mayor is not going further into debt to have something you consider more important than public safety, a business district, handicapple sidewalks, creeks, and parks. If the Mayor had agreed to this additional spending you would have been the first one to complain. You Kevin, are a joke and the biggest hypocrite I know.

Anonymous said...

i read the blod bc i enjoy watching people complain and complain. the ticker goes up,,,,,,unfortunately your use of the word "unique" is wrong. its the same damn people all teh time. you can tell by how people's comments are. i look at it, then check it again later just to read the comments and laugh my ass off! its funnt that people get mad and throw fits bc they dont get what they want. ha ha sounds like my lil kid..you guys are children. DO SOMETHING INSTEAD OF BITCHING :) HAVE A FANTASTIC DAY...

Anonymous said...

Some of you must forget what all was in that $2 million bond. Keep the firetruck and other public safety stuff and all you have left is handouts to friends and supporters. This project would have ADDED to the city! Plus, if all he needed was $235k why isn't the mayor out there asking businesses to help fund the project? Other cities do this all the time. Poor leadership, plain and simple.

Anonymous said...

how is main street, little league, parks, and creeks a handout to friends and supporters? your knowledge is lacking and you make me laugh. I agree this project should be a no brainer and I am very disappointed he turned it down. Trails and greenspace are what is hot now in todays society and we just missed the bus because of Buckley. However, this has nothing to do with the $2 million bond which is a total different issue.

well said, anonymous 2:32!

Soils along Lick Creek would not have supported the trail. Too much ground water and natural springs. The people in existing neighborhoods did not want the traffic in their back yards. The pedestrian bridges would have been eroded away by flooding. Maintenance would have cost a fortune so The Mayor chose to catch up on the neglected streets. Finally Beech Grove is already one of the most walkable cities in the State. Good choice Mayor Buckley.

Anonymous said...

well said, Kevin, well said.

Anonymous said...

Hey 6:15 did you even read the email from Buckley? And the email from Crossroads? Only $235k to get from "vicinity of 4th avenue through Sarah Bolton Park". The "neighborhoods" that were bitching about the greenway was a few people in carrington. This wouldn't have gone that far. Also, where is your documentation on "soil along Lick Creek would not have supported the trail"? Also, if you look at Buckster's email he doesn't mention that? He says "lack of funding".

Anonymous said...

This reminds me of when Joe Wright accepted that wonderful gift from his buddy Donnie Morehouse. An unusable cash cow called the Landfill. If Wright had done some research he could have saved the City a whole lot of money he chose to throw at Morehouse's problem. At least Buckley showed fiscal responsibility and didn't try to build something the City couldn't afford to maintain.

Anonymous said...

this is another lie

The Mayor chose to catch up on the neglected streets.

if the mayor was soooo concerned with the streets then why didnt he put it in the budget? the clerk tripled what the mayor put in. try again julie

Anonymous said...

This is absolutley digusting! Buckley shows his true lack of being capable to run a city with this. Look at how many people moved closer to the monon because it is a nice walkable path. This is what the society wants and Buckley just insured the vacant houses will remain.

2015 cant come soon enough. Buckley is an embarrassment!!!

Anonymous said...

The truth is the Mayor and Dan had competing draft budgets floating around. Dan's had a fully funded street paving fund, while the Mayor had raided all of that money and moved it to fire department and other pet departments.

Overpaid Julie and Ass Kissing Jacki are in more trouble with the law than they know. Stop trying to make buckley look good especially Jacki with your company "donating" the time and labor for flag poles that we all saw invoices for.

They are the two most dillusional fake people I have ever met. they both deserve thats coming to them!

Anonymous said...

Kevin- since when did this site start allowing the complete bashing of non-elected officials? Agree or disagree with Buckley/Dan/Davidson/or the other officials, but a line needs to be drawn. I am embarrassed for Kevin and this site. Someone needs to be the bigger person, and Kevin being the administrator needs to have some limitations placed. If this site is really going to be a place for bringing honesty to our city government then please leave the bashing to only those people actually elected and leave the the rest alone.

And no, this is not Julie or Jackie, although I am sure you will acuse me of being them.

Anonymous said...

your post was too nice and gentle to be either of then. Julie likes to be mean spirited and name call.

Anonymous said...

wow seriously people!!! julie and jackie are NOT the mayor....get a life and i am sorry but those are threats that i think people need to do something about. you hate the mayor fine....focus on that and not everyone else. and no i am not julie....julie is busy helping the mayor run the city and does not have time for al of your guys petty slandering and BS. and no the mayor is not paying me to defend him, nor am i supporting or not supporting him...i am refferring to all these ridiculous threats!!!!

Anonymous said...

11:35- you embarrass me and continue to prove my point. I beg you to stop the threats. If a problem is had with someone please confront that person. Since when did society stoop so low as to call news stations, post lies, personal threats, personal vendettas, and attacks annonymously? I always thought those in Beech Grove were better than that; however, my disapointment increases everyday with what is happening between our city and its citizens. It is a sad time here in the Grove.

Anonymous said...

I am very disapointed in the Mayor and the lies he continues to bring. The trails would have been a great thing for Beech Grove and I hate that he turned it down.

Kevin- stop the madness. Please stop with the personal attacks on those poor people. People make mistakes, please stop the blog from going down the path it is currently on. Good things have been done because of this blog and I would hate for it to change into something you had no intention of it becoming.

is Julie being paid to attend the chamber golf tournament today? does this fall in her job description? also she needs to lose the third grade attitude when things don't go her way

Anonymous said...

I would assume she is networking for the city of Beech Grove since the chamber consists of businesses both inside and outside of Beech Grove. However, who really cares why she is there? Personal vendettas are worthless and a waste of our time...

Anonymous said...

Come on Kevin...have some decency about your self and the blog you run! We need this site to stay legitimate!

Anonymous said...

i dont see any threats. jacki is a city contractor and on several boards. she also has been trashing in public and online so i think she is getting back what she gave out. julie as was said spends more time trashing people that point out that she and her bucky are doing wrong. both get paid by the city so they are subject to praise and critic. they both did it to wright and dilk but now they cry and whine when someone does it to them. suck it up or get out of the biz ladies. there is an investigation going on with 2 federal agencies and 1 state agency into some of their activities, everyone knows about it.no i am not kevin but i know him well and a lawyer checks everything that is posted on the blog to alert him if he is stupid enough to let something though which he isnt.

RDC has over $300,000 - The mayor has a plan for that? Hire lawyers instead of make trails?

Anonymous said...

There is no reason for the mayor's asst to be at the chamber outing. The Mayor yes, maybe someone from the RDC yes, but not the mayor's asst. Julie was one of the biggest supporters and suppliers of info to this blog when Buckley was a candidate.
They collected funds as a committee or organization when they weren't, nothing was filed on beautify BG until May 13 -2013, this was never a council approved committee and even now is not part of any city group or board, but their money was co mingled with the city funds by the mayor, until he received a letter from the State AG. here's THE THING there are reasons that there are check and balances and why one can't just do as they like.

Anonymous said...

why do you care so much why julie is at the outing????? free country, she probbaly IS networking, as far as the beautify BG.....is it such a bad idea to have it? if not, then who cares when it was started, and as far as the mayors funds, in my opnion i would think the mayor using funds to HELP the city is not a bad idea. last tiem i checked it did not take ONE person to bring a city down, it takes a whole town. beautifying BG is a great idea considering the new street etc. gotta draw people back here somehow. i am sure when BG is thriving again after all is said and done you all will have nothing else to bitch about. wait yes you will....it will be how julie walks, or talks, or how the mayor dresses, etc. ha ha i kill me

Anonymous said...

Yes, the committee is a good idea. However, so is running it legally! How interesting that as soon as the letter was receive by the Mayor, he immediately demanded any information regarding beautify bg be taken off the city website. Just like everything else, he washed his hands of it when it went bad. ha you kill me too
Let's make a deal, you and I play a game of golf tomorrow? You pay me $20 per hr and I'll play as long as you like. I'll even let you win! (ps. I can't play golf so that will be easy)

Anonymous said...

networking? just another day off paid. she's just a secretary to the mayor, not the town's savioruransDi conellos

Anonymous said...

who cares about julie. she's a significant nothing. she doesnt even live in beech grove even though her facebook page claims she does. another lie. what is important is why the mayor released 1.5 million dollars in grant money for the greenway. is he really this stupid? for 235,000. we could have had walkways like the monon.i guess because the mayor and deputy mayor dont care about walking or improving beech grove. we all know a farmers market will bring alot of people to beech grove but walking trails like the monon will not. that is there thinking.

Anonymous said...

If the BG committee was really being investigated for such reasons, then why would the state AG grant them a 501c3 if the Mayor and the group were intermingling funds and breaking the law? Goes to show all these accusations are pure crap. If it were true, the STATE OF INDIANA would not have been granted the 501c3...ha!

Anonymous said...

have you seen and heard the amount of crime on the monon? Would you want that in your backyard? Would we have to hire additional police to keep it safe and who would pay for that? Where would we fit a trail in our city? This would go well with the city WIFI...

Anonymous said...

The paperwork showing the 501 c being granted has yet to be shown to a anyone official. She magically didn't even have it with her the night of the board of works meeting when she was asking for approval. So, what does that tell you? Why isn't the mkt open yet? It's over a month late from tentative opening. If all was ready, then like I said, bring on the fruit! Oh, that's right, she didn't want to have to get their own insurance as recommended by the clerk and she probably cannot get vendors at the fee she needs to charge because they have to provide their own insurance since the 501 c isn't thru correctly.

Anonymous said...

have you also seen that the monon goes through some of the worst neighborhoods in Indy? The greenway would portion that Buck passed on would go from around 4th avenue through Bolton Park, read the email from crossroads. Geez, next B.S. reason not to move the city forward?

Anonymous said...

if they are in charge of a committee that at one point was associated with the city, they should be held accountable. Were you any different on terry dilk when on the rdc or any others on the rdc. Maybe different on talking about the new members on boards and committees. Bottom line, they broke the law, and they must be held accountable.

Its uncalled for to see people complaining about others when they were the same ones complaining during the last election. TWO_FACED people need to grow up. City employees to include julie should not be on facebook or any other site when working getting paid on my tax dollars. I cant wait until next election to see julies face when she gets let go!

Anonymous said...

So are you unemployed, retired, or self employed? It was 11:27 am when you posted on this tabloid...you appear to be TWO_FACED as well. Are out complaining in public or are you out trying to improve this city when not launching personal attacks and personal vendettas on this "blog?"

This may be a stupid question, but....Do all groups that solicit donations for a special group or purpose need to have a 501c3 or is it only those that may have a tie to a city? Just curious if the beautify BG group wasnt originally tied to the city, would they still have needed to get the 501c3?

Anonymous said...

I do not know the answer to that, 3:13. Does anyone else?

Anonymous said...

501 c is for not for profit, has nothing to do with the city or the fact that it was granted.

Dave Grenoble said...

As entertaining as some of these post are, I believe the simple truth is the mayor has no say so in the Greenway matter. Case in point, the Greenway project is an RDC project, which was approved by the council several years ago. The decision to keep or release the grant would come from the RDC which the mayor isn't a member of.

For the mayor and or the council to have any say on this project a new ordinance would need to be presented and voted on rejecting this project.

Now before anyone goes off over whether this project is good or bad, I haven't declared it either, I'm just pointing out the logistics of it.
If you have further questions I suggest you attend the RDC meeting this Thursday.
Have a nice day
Dave Grenoble

Anonymous said...

The problem with the 501c3 is they were raising funds and advertising as a non for profit but they did not have the designation. Therefore, they could not have filed properly with the IRS or State. If they can't account for the money or someone that donated accuses them of mismanagement they are screwed.

Anonymous said...

If the mayor had no authority to rescind the grant, is it still available and can the RDC do the project w/o Buck getting involved? Much like Dan McMillan making sure the streets got paved despite the Mayor's efforts.

a bunch of slap-happy crybabies. IF the city had properly used the proper material to do the lick creek erosion issue (the geo-web)it would have been fixed long ago.

Tear down perfectly good shelters, build new ones, where the hell are bbq pits to enjoy a bbq in the park? Oh and nothing like a plastic poop pit to use, they will figure out how to burn it down too, matter of time.

Live feed cameras in the park, really are they live, or Memorex? Who is monitoring these cameras, surely not bgpd, they are over tasked driving their patrol cars off duty to Lebanon, or French Lick with family.

Out streets are still a mess, our sidewalks are not even ADA compliant. Now we loose parking space on Main Street. Can't attract new business unless it a thrift store, beauty parlor or pizza joint.

How about the great city attorney go after those who defaulted on their loans and get some money back, more to the job than sleeping at council meetings.

Council needs something to do, only a few will question anything, others are worried about making King Buckaroo his Holiness happy and just vote on anything, some don't even know what they are voting on, they just say yuuuuuuuuup!

We need to step up and take back our city and hold those elected accountable, or we are going to be Indianapolis with a 46107 zip code, not cool!

If you have no regard for the law please show up at the next City Council Meeting and ask that all the Police Officers, The Animal Control Officer, the Beech Grove Courts, and the all laws in Beech Grove be suspended.

Not going to do that? Then just show up and ask that the laws you don't like or the ones the Mayor and his Deputy Mayor don't want repealed.

What a joke...

Anonymous said...

kevin....if that was a joke then what do you call all the crap that you and your supposed "A" team are doing to this town and everyone in it trying to make it better???? Dan the man is a coward who is just out to piss people off....Beech Grove is a good town til people started holding grudges and personal vendettas...unfortunately all the people that say they want this town to be better are the ones that are keeping anything good from happening!!! last time i checked BG was full of people who cared, but those people are now being forced to keep quiet bc this A team will rip them a new one.... SMH

Anonymous said...

SMH the only way one can be ripped is if they screw up.
Trying to side step laws and ordinances is wrong. Had this administration done things correctly the paperwork on beautify Beech Grove would have been filed in 2012, the Farmers market would be here and a good local business wouldn't have been sucked into it.
The ordinance that will mess with the flea markets was written in 1984, had they done things correctly instead of the usual Buckley shuffle this new mess wouldn't be happening.

what local business got sucked into it???? is it wrong for businesses in BG to want to help??? and no you all are jackasses!!

LMFAO,
yes it's all Kevin and his A teams fault.
I'm pretty sure it was Kevin and the A's who collected donations for a group that had never been approved by council, had never filed the proper documents and put the money in with city funds. It was the A's who decided to give the roofing contract and repair to the shelters to the building inspector's son. It was Kevin who told the clerk to do his job as stated in the Indiana Statue. It was Kevin and the A's who decided port o potties were fine in the park, and it was Kevin who borrowed 2 million dollars after paying off a bond. It was the A's who decided to pay a vendor $16,000 to count the trash totes, then changed it to less than $10,000 and then celebrated by going to a nice fancy dinner and the race with that company at the company's expense. It was the A's who hired a lawn company who asked for $7,800 and then it was Kevin who raised it to $10,000. It was Kevin and the A's who asked people to be on committees only to have them leave or ask them to leave. It was Kevin and the A's who wanted the BOW to break laws and rules for the farmers market because they were to lazy to do the paper work. It was Kevin who decided to do all of Main Street now instead of in two stages. It was the A's who are setting the council meetings agenda and sitting on suggested ordinances, and it was Kevin and the A's who decided to take care of the fire fighters, give the building inspector a $300,000 contract, not hire a compliance person, not enforce codes and ordinances, and it was Kevin and the A's who cry about these people just want to see us fail, instead of doing things as they should be.
And it was Kevin who decided to increase sewer rates to the Beech Grove home owners while cutting a deal with the apartments.
Damn Kevin and the A's are evil people. Oooops my bad it was Mayor Buckley.

Anonymous said...

first of all are you not aware that marion county has a compliance officer that does the compliance checking for free??? and is it really so wrong to be so far ahead of schedule and get Main street done sooner by changing some things?? are you mayor buckley?? were you there every time these things occurred?? i am sure you werent!!! so unless you hear it from the horses mouth and not the person who was "let go" then stop acting like everything you say are facts!!! yes i know docs docs docs....but as you know with every elected official there are some things that arent public records such as letting someone go bc they NEEDED to go or hiring a company to take care of the lawns etc bc maybe they are a better company!! its funny that Dan the man had to search and search for any law possible to stop the farmers market bc of a personal vendetta against buckley, jackie, julie, or anyone else who backs them! as for the small business i am sure it is heresay that they are getting pulled in!!!!

Anonymous said...

why when a group of people get pegged for doing things wrong over and over and over and over again does it have to be personal vendettas? i know why, because you all have no other excuse for doing it wrong and want to turn it against people who are doing their jobs. beautify beech grove screwed up by not playing by the rules and got spanked by the attorney general for the state of indiana. julie can you please email a copy of the letter to the blog since you are in love with being transparent? why did you take down buckey's websites that listed all the things he was going to do? beautify got busted, then julie and bucky went to the flea market lady without doing their homework and will end up getting the flea market shut down simply because they choose to do something without any regard for the rule of law. blaming others because you can't read is pathetic at best.

OK so heres the real information. Since I do not live in BG any longe is i OK for me to post some fact?
The greenway has been a LONGtime in the planning. Started off as a cluster that was then re evaluated by THE PARK BOARD. The project was then re-egineered to meet all of te INDOT, DNR and marion county reqrements. Th was a small amount of money that was awaded to the city way back in the 1990's that was used for environmetal studies and documentation that has been approved by the State to allow forthe city of Beech Grove to even be allowed to apply for any grant money forthe Greenway project. All of the real information is on file in the Park Office at Hornet Park with diagrams and documentation that supports the diagrams. The Greenway is a three phase project that has phase one starting in Sarah Bolton Park. If you cannot find the plans at Hornet Park they are also on file at the Greenfield zone office of INDOT. The plans are also part of the 5 year Masterplan put together by THE PARK BOARD.
